So i have had the worst year i have anxiety and missed a whole year of school. I am supposed to be doing my GCSE's next year i am kind of back at school but i miss days out because i refuse and am so scared and now i have to quickly make the decision if i become home schooled. My Mum is not a teacher we are quite poor and wouldn't be able to get a teacher. I have friends and educationally it's not too bad but i don't know about relationships and i might not be able to do GCSE's so finding a job could be different but if i go to school it becomes extremely stressful. I need some opinions it's really hard !!!!

Really sorry to hear . Maybe you could talk to a counsellor at your school - there is lots of help out there. You will learn to manage your anxiety and lead a happy life at school/university. Anxiety is very common but definitely can be managed by learning skills to deal with it. Good luck.
I know how you feel. The only thing that my parents can do for me is to pay the fees for GCSE and A levels. I don't have a teacher and I need to study at home only with books and internet.

I home educated my son, you can write GCSEs as an external candidate but you will be limited in the number of subjects because some traditional subjects may need coursework or practical assessments as part of the grade. As an external candidate you are usually unable to do this unless you can come to an arrangement with a school, which is difficult. You will most likely need to pay the exam fees privately which is around £120 per subject, but this varies. This fee is only for the exam, not tuition. There are some online courses available, their fees generally are for the online tuition and course material only, not exam fees, you'll need to pay exam fees and arrange a centre to write your exam at independently.
As a home educator I gave a lot of support, it was hard work and very time consuming. I only did it for 2 years and wouldn't have liked to continue much longer. Will you need lots of support or are you the type of student who is able and motivated to self-study? If you find self studying difficult then you'll need help either from a parent or tutor, if your parents are unable to provide that support (from themselves or paying for a tutor) I would say don't do it. It's a committment not to be taken lightly.
If you do go ahead with home educating then find a home ed support group in your area, there are plenty of Facebook, who can offer advice. Particularly advice around writing GCSEs privately as they will be able to advise what centres local to you will allow external candidates. Home educating can be successful, my son is at college now and he's loving it and had no problems with being accepted onto the course, but it is a big committment that needs to be made by you and your parents.
I am currently in year 11 and have wanted to be home schooled since around the beginning of year 10. I just don’t enjoy school or the people there. I’ve lost many of my friends and I just don’t feel like I want to go to school anymore. I’ve already had lots of absences this year so I just wish I could get home schooled but my parents just keep saying no

I think it can be done with a lot of organisation, preparation and support, after all a lot of countries in the world have a great home schooling system.

Thank you that is a good point and I'm willing to work hard so i feel it could be fine i also have some good and understanding friends i was just worried a little about some people's opinions and being alone i think i'm going to choose homeschooling as the way to go.
I used to talk to a Councillor because i also have a lot of family issues everyone thinks that i held it in for a while and not going to school is my way subconsciously of getting back at people it is kind of like having a second brain like a sensible one then a mean and stupid one it has been good to talk to and get opinions from people and i want to find a group of home schooled kids to talk to.

Schools don't have time to deal with students who have anxiety. Being home schooled would ease that part of your issue. I home schooled my grandson and he never went to school. He is now nearly 19 and is at college studying Media and Animation and is top of his year. He had loads of friends when he was home schooled and has kept in touch with them and he had no issue making friends now he's at college. There are plenty of resources online and plenty of groups you can join to get help and socialise. You can study at your own pace and that will ease your anxiety. You can also do GCSE's at college - if you are 14-16 you can be enrolled in college now and do your GCSE's along with whatever course you want to do. As another parent here said, it won't cover all of GCSEs because of the practicalities involved, but it would solve the expense for English and Maths.
School doesn't suit everyone, but neither does home schooling, but in the case of the OP, I would advocate Home Schooling.
School means you have more teachers and better facilities for completing your education, as well as it being the cheaper option. However, if OP can't study in school, then home schooling would be the better option. I would still advise that they try to seek help for their anxiety issues if they are causing problems in their day to day life.

Is it possible to work in places like Hotels, Culinary things and get a weekend job at 14/15 then work my way up in that kind of job without GCSE's and A levels and still be okay?
