i listened to that by accident ( not the Mali music :teehee: ). it was interesting to be reminded that we hear these terms every day in the media without really thinking about what they mean.

Sadly not. But statistics are not failing government. They are there for all to see. And whoever is in government will pick the statistics that support their agenda. You could argue that it is the interpretation of statistics that is the problem, not the stats themselves.

Agree. Bill Bryson paints a great picture of GDP, talking about how a company that creates and environmental disaster can increase GDP over night as all the compensation and clean-up costs contribute to GDP.
