I have been studying history and the first term for me has consisted of 3 modules. The first module is a 2000 word essay which is 60% of the module grade and a 2hour exam worth 40%. My second module is another 2000 word essay which is worth 60% and a timed 1000 word essay. My third module is a 2000 word essay with an additional 1000 word primary source analysis essay and a 500 word annotated bibliography. Is this the standard amount for a history degree.

so many essays!!...i wouldn't survive 1 day as a history student it just sounds torturous >_< ... saw "timed 1000 word essay" and almost threw up. Sorry i have no idea if it's the standard ...it seems like what you're doing is a lot though

I don't do history but here's my workload during semester 1
Module 1: 1000 word leaflet and a 2000 word essay
Module 2: 800 word critical source review and some worksheets that goes into a portfolio.
Module 3: 3 hour exam
Module 4: 3000 word essay
