How to become a chartered accountant?

So I’m in Y13 and have applied for chemical engineering. I have seen that you can do a course on accountancy (AAT?) provided you have at least a bachelors degree. I have no work experience. Is this likely or unlikely as I am not applying for accounting and finance.

AAT is aimed for those who do not go to university. Since you're planning on doing a different degree, you can just apply to graduate jobs in Accounting, and work as a trainee which you would also do the ACA or ACCA which will allow you to be a qualified chartered accountant (also, the company you work for will pay for you to sit those exams).
