I always find that i like to speak answers to questions out loud and definately helps my retentions. I feel it helps make a stronger bond with the information when you are forced to construct sentances using knowledge and make it sound like a normal conversation, all congruent-like.

As for recording 'notes' on a dictaphone. I think this may be a waste of money i'm afraid. Plus with a hard copy of notes you can refer to stuff and look topics up etc. Much more useful and wont cost you twenty quid!

I wrote out my notes and recorded them onto my phone. However, I found that having a hard copy of my notes and reading them out loud was more useful than listening to them. I agree with roweski; a dictaphone would be a waste of money.

i record my notes and essays onto an mp3 player and it works great for me but that might be cause im dyslexia.

i find its really usefulto read them out loud which helps you to rember them and then to listen to later over and over again!it also means you can revise when your walking around and on the bus etc even when your asleep!so it dosnt actually feel like revision however i wouldnt just do that its more a sort of extra to add on

I remember our french teacher told us to record our presentation for GCSE and play it to yourself as you sleep. The day before the exam i sit infront of computer slowly reading my presentation in slow and concise francais and as i get into bed played my recording.

I WOKE UP WITH A BANGING BLOODY HEADACHE AND NEVER WANTED TO HEAR MY VOICE AGAIN.

However, i did remember presentation perfectly!!!
