anyone been to cloud 23 at the hilton in manchester?

if so, could you please gimme some info on what its like as my sis has booked us a table there for a bday bash and i just wanted to know what kinda music they play, what kinda crowd its got, atmosphere etc.

As far as I'm aware their only beer is bottled Peroni. That's just a rumour mind, I'd like to go.

We tried to rent out Cloud 23 for 2 hours for our University Ball pre-drinks. £6000! would have been our whole budget :-p

Its a typical 5 star hotel bar. Drinks are expensive, £4-5 for a bottle peroni. Nice view, good table service. There can be a queue to get up there on the weekend, and they have a dress code on the weekend. You would have to dress smart / casual.

During the week its way quieter and there isnt really a dress code. Good idea to reserve a table on the weekend, or if you happen to be staying in the hilton you get preferential access and do not have to queue. The cocktails are great, if not a little expensive. You really are paying for the view, but it is nice. It was bar of the year last year, and the year previously. The title was taken by a cocktail bar in the northern quarter this year, which is supposed to be very good too.

Cloud 23 is a really nice place... nice view, good service. You get what you pay for. I usually go there once every 2 months or whenever we're having a party or event.
