Average/range price of selly oak houses

Hello!

Tis the time that me and friends are looking for a house for second year, we've decided to be in selly oak and theres 6 of us so we went looking round today.
However Being from the north were stuff is cheaper and me not from a well off family, seeing the prices of rent per week made me a little nervous basically everything we checked out was from about £65 - £78, to me this seemed alot. So i was wondering wat was the average student house prices around here, if this range is normal and about right considering the difference compared to accomodation fees id say fair enough, since i expetced that stuff more south is more expensive and also considering there is 6 of us. But I was thinking £70 per week was a medium price for brum and i shud aim for cheaper or could it be that most houses under High 60's not very nice anyway?

Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks

We've found a 6 roomer for 62 quid a week, pretty standard gaff to be fair... but homely and good for the banterous times ahead! One of my flatmates is going into an 82quid/week house... must be crazy.

A guy I know landed a 5 roomer for 42 pounds a week.. It's probably an elaborately assembled cardboard box, but for that price?

It sure does pay to search. I've found a pretty standard house, quite cosy, with a fantastic landlord (an important factor I think!). We pay £67.67 a week with included gas, electric, water, broadband, eve/wknd calls, line rental and cable TV.

:-)

Not bad eh! And 11 mins walk to uni too.

Best to search around loads of different companies and on the Bham Accomm website as they have their 'approved' landlords on there. Can't find the address atm though...
