The chemical formula of hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. What is the empirical formula of hydrogen peroxide?

HO I believe as is just the formula giving the proportions of the elements present in a compound but not the actual numbers or arrangement of atoms.

err

H-O=O-H
-H -H

with the second H being underneath the second O (TSR doesn't allow you to write multiple spaces) and with the -Hs being at 45 degree angles based on the negativity of the double bonded oxygen (because oxygen is very negative in its charge based on the distance of the electrons away from the positively charged nucleus) influencing the repulsion against the very positively charged hygrogen (because it has only 1 electron in its outer shell, and due to orbitals being further and further away the more electrons there are this makes it pretty positive)

but I didn't go past a level chemistry and that was like half a decade ago or more now.

empirical formula gives the simplest ratio of atoms in the compound. So for C3H9, it would would CH3. Gone from a 3:9 ratio to a 1:3 ratio, as this is as simple as it can be. Can you work out what is must be then for ur question?
