it depends on your area but generally it is worth trying the website.
it all depends on what companies contact them to say they have jobs.

All the job centre is now is basically the website. They just have kiosks which let you use the website.

I don't know if its like it for anyone else but the website is utterly useless in my area. Despite limiting my search to 5 miles from my postcode it will give me jobs 200 miles away. There not even in order of distance or anything so you have to go through all the search results to find the ones in your area.

I tried to email them to complain about the website but you can't because you can only complain about an actual centre. Its probably the reason why the website is still like it after so many years.

Yeah, last time I checled, Nottingham was not 5 miles away from Cardiff.

I think if you're a student the job centre website won't be the best place 'cause it'll be the small companies who want you and won't advertise in the job centre.

As people have said, the search facilities on their website can be useful.

But my experiences of visiting the job centre are all negative. The staff tend to be rude, condescending muppets. They were only willing to offer any advice/help if I attended a three month basic literacy and numeracy course.
