JPMorgan internship application

I applied yesterday to JPMorgan and wow, im impressed they replied today asking me to do the tests.. Do they actually screen people out in the application process? Surely, if it took them only a day to reply that means theyre either very efficient or they look for simple criteria (ie grades, university, course, etc) and nothing specific to the answers to their questions. When I applied for Deutsche bank, they invited me for the test 3 weeks later.. maybe its just the time i applied it (ie very near to the deadline)..

Anyways, it says ill do the verbal test if i pass the numerical test, is this automated? and do they give u ur marks? thanks a lot!

For many banks, you're invited to take the numerical test as soon as you hit the submit button.

Im sorry if you misunderstood me but i was asking specifically about JPMorgan, not 'many' banks. Thanks

Not really
If you pass their minimal autofilter, you get invited to the test.

oh okay.. thanks hehe.. i guess DB do the filtering manually..

Where are these internships? Are they for A2 students before going to university?

i just did the numeracy one which I think i messed up coz i paniced and completely misunderstood the last 3 questions which were otherwise easy :/..

anyways it said on the first email "1) a numerical reasoning test (must be successfully completed to progress to verbal test)" does successfully completed mean passed? i got an invitation for the verbal test, does that mean I passed the numerical one?

Hate to sound so callous, but look at the data :
1) You're told you'll get the verbal if you successfully complete (i.e. pass) the numerical.
2) You do the numerical and then get the verbal.
See where I'm going ?

guys no need for the sarcastic comments  its just that im used to the word 'successfuly complete' meaning get it done ie not necesarilly passed.. in all my comp sci literature, etc , whenever id come accross that phrase it would mean get it done.. a sentence can have many meanings.. successfuly completed can mean that they want you to do the numerical test fully since it has many parts (2 practise tests).. also because I thought that those tests are not 'static' ie.. they dont just have a pass mark but they look at your overall application with the tests.. im sorry i dont have much experience in all this.. this is the second bank I apply to. But anyways thanks for the responses

I was under the impression JPM review applications before sending out tests, but this could depend on division.

I hope they do review apps first...I applied in November got AAAB and a 1st in my first year studying law...so am really hoping I havent been "autofiltered."

Reply 13

They do not autofilter, atleast not for front office, I applied in Novemember but was invited to the test in mid decemeber which I successfully completed and was invited to an Interview. JPMorgan have amongst the best selection programmes. The firm recieves your application which it then refers to an individual who has studied ideally your course and at the same institute. If they are unable to match a course and University in their profile, they refer you on the basis of which University you study at.

I think that is very fair!! don't know what you guys think.

I completed the tests 3 days ago.. still under review how long do they usually take to reply? is it a good sign that they have taken a while (ie do they usually reject people who fail the tests quickly?) thanks.. btw i applied for technology.
