lol, don't be silly, just behave. He'll be sacked in a second. If you still fancy him when you graduate then go for it, but you probably won't.

Go and see the discussion on the thread about different reasons for people getting kicked out of Oxford, it turned out Lecturers do go out with students and that its only frowned upon, so neither you nor him will get into trouble just as long as he doesn't teach you.

Reply 3

Uh.. I'm pretty sure he won't be sacked, although it probably won't do him many favours respectability-wise. That's so long as he says yes, of course..

Reply 4

Of course he'll be sacked, that's why they have to fill out disclosures, to make sure they don't hire anyone who would do that kinda thing. How old are you though OP? Could make a difference.

Reply 5

I'm 18.

Reply 6

How olds he around about?

Reply 7

I think it would be a mistake but thats my own personal opinion. Do you know anything about apart from the fact he teaches you? He could be married or engaged, he could have children, etc.

Also It would be frowned upon, and if you did tell him and he isn't interested then that would be awkward.

I think he's around 30-35. I've been with older people before.

I know that he was married but he's not anymore. As far as I know he's single.

Probably would be awkward but we don't bump into each other every day so it wouldn't be too bad.

Do you talk to him at all?

Reply 10

Yeah we bump into each other in the lifts as he teaches in the same block as my lectures. I've sent him a few emails wishing him a merry christmas and happy new year.

Reply 11

If him being a lecturer wasn't the issue, do you honestly think he likes you enough to be in a relationship with you? I'm getting the impression otherwise.

Reply 12

Maybe you should try and get to know him better first before you do anything else.

Reply 13

Watch the episode of friends with Ross, it helps.

Reply 14

You know im in an exact situation as u only issue is im too scared to ask him out and hes married :frown: I called his wife a man by accident since then hes been dodgy , so he changed his wifes picture to a more feminine one...he does love her sniff.

I too would love to date a lecturer but i cant find any one who i have clicked with bleh I have too much high expectations sux really.

When you wished him happy new year and merry xmas what he say ? Was he friendly or was it a general thing like thanks for your wishes same to you blah.

Life sux when it comes to relationships.
Sorry im in a lonely mood sniff :frown:

good luck xx

They are allowed to go out with students. If hes a nice guy then whats wrong with asking?

Jesus Anon # 2, you go on like theres not another fish in the sea lol

Reply 17

Aww bless you anon 2.

We do take the pee out of each other through email as we both speak different languages and wind each other up through that.

I've been up to his office a few times and he's made a few dodgy jokes like "Go and sit in the naughty corner."

Reply 18

Just out of curiosity what subject does he lecture?

Reply 19

He tutors French.
