Hello
Can someone tell me what the specifications are for the calculator we are required to use in the Mathematics International A-levels?
As far as I know, the specifications in general for the Mathematics International A-levels (found here https://qualifications.pearson.com/e...thematics.html) basically follow the Mathematics 2008 A-level syllabus (found here http://qualifications.pearson.com/en...tics-2008.html). But I can't find the information showing what calculator we are required to use / bring to the exam. And I've read/heard some conflicting information.
Thanks in advance!

The ideal calculator is the Casio fx991 ES PLUS scientific calculator, though any similar scientific calculator is adequate. For Maths you just need trig, log and exponential functions in addition to standard arithmetic functions . The ES plus has useful additional capability for numerical differentiation/integration and equation solving that can be very useful for checking answers. Further maths has additional requirements. You can use a graphical calculator if you wish as long as it does not have capabilities for symbolic algebra or calculus which rules out CAS models. You will have to decide for yourself whether a graphical calculator is the worth the cost, personally I don't think it is for Maths but may be more justifiable for Further Maths.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I already have that calculator, so I hope it will be enough! I asked because some people told me that the calculator specs requirements changed last year. I can't find the specific specifications for the international mathematics A-levels.
