solomon papers..
Just wondering if anyone has ever done worse in their actual exam compared to thier solomon paper scores? I'm doing solomon papers and im getting 60-65% 
Whereas I should be getting an A on C3.. Just wondering if anyone thinks that solomon are a good indication on what you will get in the exam.. thanks!

I find the C3 solomon's much harder than the past papers. They're *evil*! I think I almost cried after the first one, it was so bad lol.
It's different for different modules though, how they compare to the edexcel papers.
Don't worry about it, and try and do the real past papers instead if you can get hold of them!

I'd agree that the Solomon papers (at least for C1-C4) were harder; they provided more opportunities to make mistakes, whereas the actual Edecxel exams seemed more straight-forward.
Having said that, the tricks in Solomon Press do come up in the real exams, they just seem to be less concentrated.
My advice would be to really digest the markschemes after you've graded your script. Find out exactly where and how you're loosing marks. Make notes if you need to. I did this and not only did it improve my scores for the Solomon papers, but I was able to use some of the techniques I'd picked up in the markschemes (that weren't mentioned explicitly in the text books) in the real thing.
Good luck and don't worry, I think they're designed to be a bit harder.

So your saying C4 Solomons < C4 EdExcel Past Papers ? ... or do you mean not to the normal standards of solomons? ... I agree with the C3 being quite easier in solomon, than the C1 and C2.

Solomon's C3/C4 are not quite up to the standard of actual past papers. Past papers are better practice and harder imo. Also there are 'Edexcel Practice Papers' which are 6 papers that were released when the syllabus was new. Basically, there were no previous papers at the time so they made them from old papers. But they are very good-- harder than the exam because they tend to contain questions toward the end of papers. I can post them up if nec when i get home.

If you can do them within the time you could probably complete the exam in an hour!
