Blanche is the typical southern belle, and the whole play explores the past, which is another feature. By exploring Blanche's past, Williams explores the past of the old south. Another feature of the Southern Gothic is focusing on tortured individuals, which streetcar definitely does, arguable every protagonist is in a way, especially Blanche. Transgressive boundaries are also explored, as well as the grotesque (scene 10, wall shapes etc) which are also important features.hope this helps
