    Hey I was just wandering how many of you went/ are going to open days on your own? Is it a horrible experience?

    I did! To every one I went to Wasn't bad actually. The more organised ones (e.g. where it's just your department, not the whole Uni) seem to split the potential students from the parents anyway and take you round together and let the parents have a look separately, so it doesn't matter at all whether you've come with someone or not. The ones where it's the whole Uni and you just wander round aren't as great on your own but they're not horrible by any means - you're probably getting a day off school/college at least so it's not all bad Though if you can find a friend who's interested in the same Uni, I guess it would be nice to have someone else along for ones like that.

    i think sometimes you have to, especially when your friends arent considering the same course or even uni...but if its a big open day then u mite pop into friends on the way round so then thts not too bad

    Yeah i went to a few with mates but these next rounds only I am interested in the unis and I face goin to 6 on my own

    I took my dad, and I wished I hadn't! He just wanted to sit down with his flask and sandwiches all the time! We missed so many talks because he wouldn't cooperate!
