As the title says, which one? I am looking to buy a set of them, but they are expensive, so I would want to make an educate decision on the purchase. I just need a textbook with as little unneeded information as possible, just the information for the spec. I've only actually read the AQA Third Edition textbook at my school, by the way.

For each science, there is a set of 'accredited textbooks' that follow the specification in the eyes of AQA.
As long as they are accredited, they should be fine.

I'm also in the same situation as you, I'm currently looking to buy either the Collins AQA GCSE books, or the CGP books. I'm looking for the textbooks which have the information and content alongisde some revision questions.
Here's a few links to the biology ones for an idea of what I'm looking to buy, feel free to make any suggestions: (both biology, but I'll be buying a set)
Collins AQA GCSE 9-1 Biology:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/GCSE-Biolog...61XY0FKT2MXA4X
CGP AQA GCSE 9-1 Biology:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Grade-9...7YGNT8R2HZGN8S
I personally think that it's either one of these that you should buy, as well as myself, but I don't know which one is better.

I would REALLY recommend using the CGP revision books, they basically single handedly got me through my bio chem and physics GCSEs
