When Elon musk was asked what degree is the best to study he suggested physics. What's the reason behind it, even tho he did a masters in engineering himself

perhaps he finds physics now in light of his success more interesting than his engineering course played out to be, personally engineering and medicine are both top players in terms of employability and with high future career prospects, pure physics is good although i wouldn't have thought it to be as beneficial as maybe mechanical or electrical engineering

I'm pretty sure he basically meant anything from the STEM subjects would be the best to study, they all point toward the future.

I think he says Physics specifically because it incorporates pretty much everything from all the STEMS. Its a science, includes technology, engineering and lots of maths.

He thinks space travel is our only hope of survival as a species so he wants people to do physics to design new engines for his engineers to build.
