Have your say!

Do you prefer human Geography (inc. culture, economic development, ageing populations) or physical Geography (inc. plate tectonics, river formations, weather systems)?

Could you tell us why?

Do you think you will pursue a degree or career based on geography?

Personally, I loved human Geography but I pursued a degree on the physical side (Environmental Science) and I'm loving it!

Physical Geography has more uses, and it more interesting.

Physical geography definitely! It introduced me to the subject of geology which is what I'm doing at uni

One part of physical geography that is interesting to me and immediately comes to mind is the section 'Natural Hazards'. (GCSE spec)

PHYSICAL
Human is boring lmaooooo
Well that’s my opinion anyway
I’m more of a sciencey person than a writing person, so I much prefer physical to human
Geography has always been my favourite subject and recently I have started to realise how much more I like physical geography than human geography, because of this, physical geography is the most likely course for me to do at university

I find physical geography more interesting
It’s what I probably want to do at university
Because geography has always been my favourite subject, but I’ve started to realise that I’m a lot less interested in human geography

I’m difficult but it’s the interaction between the two that interests me / love physical but for example earthquakes are so interesting but learning the effects of the earthquakes and social side is interesting

Both physical and human were equally as interesting at GCSE but at A level I personally think physical is better. Physical became more interesting and scientific but human became more political. I find that I like 99% of physical topics and 50% of human topics.
