Looking for good books to read currently a year 11 students.
Previously enjoyed books such as: maze runner, gone series, the mortal instruments etc.

  • East of Eden & The Grapes of Wrath - John Steinbeck
  • Lord of the Flies - William Golding
  • To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
  • 1984 - George Orwell
  • The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
  • Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
  • The Time Machine - H.G Wells
  • The Catcher in the Rye - J.D Salinger
  • The Giver - Lois Lowry
  • The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien
  • Farenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury


That's just some off the top of my head that I think are very much worth reading.

Watching this thread because we basically like the same books! It looks like you enjoy reading series of books, so I suggest some individual books like lovely bones, all the bright places and broken glass

If you liked the Mortal Instruments series, you'll like the Infernal Devices series by the same author, Cassandra Clare. That's if you haven't read it already

Stoner written by John Williams. Unfortunately an underrated an so unknown novel from the 50s if am not mistaken which was republished a decade ago or so.
