You can fly a lot cheaper than the train if you fly EasyJet. I am flying home for a weekend in November for £23 return including taxes, Newcastle to Bristol. The train is £85 return even with a railcard.

Was looking in to it yesterday

Easyjet were quoting prices around £1.49 - £3.99 for Newcastle to Stanstead

I couldn't find how much taxes etc are. They kept on repeating that the prices excluded them, but didn't list the taxes anywhere

The airport taxes are £11.50 each way, so a total of £23 for a return journey. I actually got free seats both ways for my booking. If you book well enough in advance the fares are really cheap!

Greetings!
I'm flying home at the end of term and I have already booked flights going from Newcastle to Stanstead, flying with Easyjet. My return flights cost me £30 including taxes and all, and my Dad is going to be at Stanstead, which is 40 minutes away from us, to collect me. The flights are at very reasonable times too, going home I travelling at 4.30pm and coming back to Durham I'm flying at 3.05pm. If there's anyone else living in the South Herts area, also flying home, I think we'd be able to share lifts to and from the airport to save parents travelling!
