Can someone help me with this question

Assume the number of males to be "x"
Therefore the number of females will be "2x"

Since, 1/4 th of the females wear glasses,
females wearing glasses will be "x/2"

Since, 3/8 th of the males wear glasses,
males wearing glasses will be "3x/8"

Hence, total number of people who wear glasses will be "x/2+3x/8"
However, total number of people wearing glasses is 84
Thus, x/2 + 3x/8 = 84

Solve the equation and you get x=96
Hence , no of males = 96
no of females = 192
total no of people = 288
