Space exploration, and specifically manned space exploration, is a colossal waste of time and resources. Can't we focus on our own bloody planet? We're heading for man-made global disaster yet half the world starves while the other half blows billions of dollars playing with rockets. Are you kidding me? It's nothing but a Cold War hangover that's only allowed to continue because it appeals to the legions of space-fetishists who think if we travel to these barren rocks enough times then eventually we'll level up our skill tree enough to go colonise other solar systems and party with aliens, as if that's the inevitable end goal for humanity. Well the bad news is we still haven't figured out a way to travel through space beyond the centuries-old technology of putting explosive **** in a tube and setting it on fire. You'll never reach an exoplanet that way. Continuing to throw money at space rockets in the hope that it'll lead to something as monumental as interstellar travel is like trying to build a supercomputer by researching new ways to build an abacus. Our species exists by accident and will probably die the same way, right here on this rock. So let's try and make the most of it.
