I’m 18 years and wanna leave sixth form because I plan on doing my exams privately, I’m aware how hard it is I’ve taken this into account was gonna leave on results day but only stayed because of my girlfriend tbh but she’s okay with me leaving now if I think it’s the right choice which I do. I should be legally allowed to leave but when I talked to my school they said in order for me to leave I need to have a meeting with my parents then subsequently a careers advisor but this process is so long I cba for this I just wanna get on with my life I don’t need to re evaluate my options because I’ve already thought of what would happen if my plan to do a levels alone didn’t work out so I was going to just stop turning up to school and just get kicked out but idk I don’t wanna do that because I still wanna apply to uni and like I just wanna know if it’ll make a difference in regards to applying for uni whether I drop out or get kicked out
I think if you want to complete your a levels you should stay. doing a levels privately is very expensive. I've only done 1 and it has cost around £500 in fees etc.
I’ve calculated the costs and know how much it will be as well as being willing to pay for it I just personally think that it’s the best thing for me, so that’s why I would like to know does it matter if you drop out or get kicked out
I don't think it matters either way. I dropped out when I was a school leaver to go to work. if you're paying for your exams then the exam officer isn't bothered why. just make sure where you want to sit your exams will let you sit them and exams need to be paid for this month or next for June 2018 (I'm aqa and paying for mine on friday). talk to your school as you may have already been entered for the exams and may be able to sit them without fees
If you have understandable reasons, is it not possible for you to try talking to school about studying at home and then sitting the exams at school, this would save you the cost and also mean you still have support there if you need it
