I dunno, but PWC seem to take ages in everything they do. I applied for Gap Year Programme, and am still waiting to hear about assessment day - been nearly a month now. I keep ringing hem but hard to get through and they don't answer their emails.

I think they took about a week after I submitted my initial application. A load of it is read over by a computer, but they'll be busy right now with deadlines approaching as well as interviewing quite a lot of people. I wouldn't worry just yet anyway.

I'm told by people that have applied to investment banks that a month would be considered a short wait for some of them! PWC have been pretty good with me, I've always heard within a week.

word

i posted the situation regarding a guy in my school who is in year 13 in another thread about a week ago

he applied at the beginning of December, 6 weeks later he got a reply for an assessment centre etc
There was about a 2 week wait before I got a reply, after submitting my application form, inviting me to the next selection stage. I suspect it depends on when you apply, and what region you are applying to. I applied to the London region.
it said on my form 2 working days,. and still hadnt heard anything after a week so called them and they said theyd call me bak that afternoon...a week later not a beep. so i called again and they sent me a response that afternoon...rejection. so maybe that isnt the best way to go about it....lol
lol, nah I would never repeatedly call a graduate recruiter for a response - especially a Big 4 firm. It's all too easy for them to rush through going through your application and reject you - or maybe even just reject you cos of your (perceived) impatience.

Don't be ridiculous! A company would never reject you on the basis that you are keen for a response. I have always been told, and also attended a PWC interview skills course, that it looks good if you ring them up/email requesting a response - it shows you really want the job.

Obviously, if they say we will get back to you within 5 working days and you ring them up after 3 and say 'well?' then that isn't good. However, if they don't say, or give a time and it is longer than that then by all means ring them up and say 'how is it going, i need a response'.

Hi I got an email about 8 hours after sending my application inviting me to do the online tests within the next 5 days, which is before Tuesday :s-smilie: wish me luck!!

What is this application for? A gap year? A summer internship? A graduate job? You need to be clear when you post.
I applied for a summer internship. I got a response less than 12 hours later. I got an interview 3 days later. I got the internship 2 days later. So it's very quick in my experience. Of course it depends where you apply to as well. I applied to the Dublin HQ. Maybe if you apply elsewhere they have some slow human resource person. The one in Dublin doesn't stop ringing you.

they said 3 days for me. i waited 8 days before calling and they called me back an hour later to say i'd got through
