Hiya

I was always going to apply to do a degree in History, as modern history has always been my focus. However, lately I've felt burnt out, and I'm starting to get a bit bored of the whole political/economic side of things. I'm hoping to be an academic some day, meaning that I'd need to take an MA in whatever my chosen subject is.

However if I take a joints its unlikely that I would get into the Unis I'm applying to (Oxford Brookes especially - Requiring 120 points rather than just 112). How do I know that my enjoyment of history isn't just a phase? And is it worth taking the gamble to do a joints in English if not?

If you feel burnt out consider a gap year to reflect on what you really want to do.
