The DNA of the virus is different from that of other organisms. Use the table
below and your knowledge of DNA to suggest what this difference is. Explain
your answer.

Percentage of each base in DNA
Adenine Guanine Thymine Cytosine
Human 30.9 19.9 29.4 19.8
Grasshopper 29.4 20.5 29.4 20.7
Virus 24.0 23.3 21.5 31.2

So confused, I have a vague idea but nothing significant.

It’s single stranded/not double stranded.
No complementary base pairing of A-T and G-C since they have different percentages (A and T are not equal and G and C are not equal)

As stated above, viral DNA is SS as opposed to DS. So if you compare the percentages based on where the purine to pyrimidine bonding should occur e.g. A-T and C-G you can see that in the human and grasshopper these are very close whereas this is not the case n the virus due to the lack of pairing.
