I'd rather go to gym than go clubbing

Hey guys,

I am a student at university.

Am I boring because I don't smoke, drink or go out clubbing anymore?

I just hate the way I always feel the next morning.

I know I'm going to feel more pressured as term starts, to go out clubbing with my course mates.

I'd rather get a good night's sleep and then hit a DEADLIFT PR the next day.

I am a competitive powerlifter and recreational freerunner btw, so I train like an athlete.

What do you think guys?

I didn't know other people like me existed. What's your Deadlift PR?
I think your attitude is very common, I would rather do something useful and go parties/clubs once or twice a month than go all the time/mess about etc.

You're definitely not boring
Same here these days but I'm 27  When I was of uni age I wasn't even lifting and was all about going out every weekend (even some weekdays), getting pissed and picking up some vag. Do wish I'd started lifting 5 years earlier but still, I'm doing well.

You’re not the only one mate!
I also found that as you progress through uni and the work gets harder and more Intense there are less nights out anyway.

I actually have more respect for people like you, who do their own thing and don’t give in to social norms or peer pressure.

Do what makes you happy mate.
No, it's pretty common once you get to your 20s and increasingly so as time goes on. Clubbing has been on decline for years, anyway, so it's not like you're missing out on much.
Nothing wrong with not liking clubbing! I like to socialise with friends so I'd much rather go to a pub and gossip the night away, whilst flirting with the waiters
Lots of people hate clubbing, but thats not really the issue. You should ask yourself if you are happy the way you are and whether you need to socialise more.

200kg (after I tested my Squat and Bench)

I actually pulled my hamstring earlier on so didn't push too hard with the deadlifts, but 200kg came up fast.

I've been lifting just over a year, and powerlifting for 4 months

Yours?

All time best was 250kg . I've reduced powerlifting since I injured my knee. Now I do around 200-225 kg

Considering the amount of time you've been lifting , you're doing pretty well

Yes, absolutely!

I like to socialise.

I like to have people round for dinner, or go FIVE guys with friends

I do like being social, I just like to be in bed at a reasonable time so I don't feel HOT DAMN awful the next day

Thanks dude.

I'm happy with squat progress (160kg for 1rm, but Bench KIND of sucks... Just under 100kg at 97.5kg. I think its cause I have long ass arms haha)

But I am excited to see where I am in a few years time.

Maybe being a ranked lifter in my weightless! Who knows?

Start working out your legs more often , I used around 225 before I injured myself. I think one day for glute and quad focus and one day for hamstrings focus should work for you.
How tall are you? At times the weight you can take can be affected by that as well.
Keep yourself consistent and you'll achieve your goals with ease
You're not alone mayne. I'd rather go to the gym too and make me some MO GAINZ.
Flirting with women is my greatest pleasure in life. And I feel like God in nightclubs which is fun to experience too... Maybe it's all the testosterone coarsing through my veins... I'll even go flirt with women I don't like if there's nothing better to do. It's just very fun and enjoyable, quite thrilling, it fills me with immense amounts of adrenaline.
