Throwing up before exams?

Hi, everytime i have an exam, maybe an hour or so before the exam starts i get this really nauseous feeling. i therefore tend not to eat much in the morning, if at all. most of the time i throw up and then i feel better. once im in the exam, there's no problem and i can work properly. after the exam, im back to normal and i eat like a pig lol. is there anyway to stop vomiting before the exam? its just not nice, but ive kinda gotten used to it. anyone else have this? :s-smilie:

Eating can settle your stomach (when it's just nervous sickness), even if you don't feel like it.

Maybe try sickness tablets?

Before one of my driving tests I felt like I was about to be sick, so had a lie-down which worked slightly. I tried to eat something as well.

Sounds like nerves. My old A2 Drama teacher said she always used to throw up just before a performance.

Yeah, it's just nerves. Two things to try. One is eating beforehand, that can help settle your stomach. Another one is good for general nausea, put your thumbs together and blow on them about 6 inches from your mouth.

I have this problem too. Had an exam on Monday: the morning was spent being sick and feeling very nervous. Apparently there might be anti-sickness pills available from your GP though I have not researched this and some much more informed TSR user will probably correct me/include more detail on this

Yep, I think you can go to your GP and get some tablets. My friend used to get them for her nerves and said they really helped.

Also, If your nerves are very extreme you may be able to get a doctors certificate to prove it is affecting your exam performance. You don't say how old you are but if you're in school you can get them to notify the exam board (you never know you might get a few extra marks).

You could buy some Rescue Remedy from the chemist, in a little bottle. You drop a couple of drops on your tongue without swallowing, it tastes similar to alcohol, and it calms your nerves.
Or, ginger biscuits reduce your nausea.
