Flirting

Can anyone shed light on this dark art?

What actually is its definition?

I have heard that it entails being playfully mean, teasing and not being too friendly?

Is it best done while relatively alone with the person? (i.e. while not in a big group of people)

Please keep anon as I find it quite embarrassing to ask :p:

there is many ways you can flirt depending on the person, everyone has different ways, some girls may just be suttle by the way they look at the other person, or hug them and compliment etc, while other girls go full on sit on their laps, whisper in their ears while touching their legs lol (am i allowed 2 say lol? i got told off for talking text :s-smilie:

ditto. my boyfriend says i flirt with everyone because i'm just the kind of person who has a lot of contact.
i don't think anyone can define flirting seeing as everyone's view is different - sorry if that's not much help OP :p:

Yeah, apparently I "ooze sex" because I flirt a lot and even with my best friends. Sounds disgusting to me, ooze is such a rancid word. People ooze congealed blood.

Anyway, it seems to me that it's something very easy to misconstrue. Being friendly is too often confused with being sexual, yet I think it's much more obvious when a person is flirting in a sexual way.
