eyesight question

I wear glasses but this is something that I've always had regardless of the prescription and even before I needed glasses.

Basically it looks like the air is twinkling/made up of dust, like there is a layer between my eyes and everything else and it twinkles. I don't mean floating objects...

Does anyone know what I mean?

Ooh is it like the sparkles you get when you close/put pressure on your eyes?

(not that I ever do this :redface:)

Are they floaters?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floater

They're more common in people who are short-sighted.

When I stare at things too long laser beams shoot out of my eyes and set fire to things. ;yes;

I get those, I've always wondered what they were called...

I get them, but only when looking at something white, or the sky. They're NOT floaters (I have those too and they look a lot different). It's like little sparkles appear, move a few millimetres and then vanish but this is across your entire field of vision. Almost like white noise on an old television that isn't tuned properly.

I get something like this I think, nothing like the picture on wikipedia though, but it's particuarly pronounced when I look at the sky, like tiny particles moving about.

Reply 17

That's exactly what I'm talking about Munkie!

Reply 18

yay :smile: I was worried for a bit because no one I mentioned it to knew what I meant...

Reply 19

It's perfectly normal. Everyone has it, they just might not notice it so much.
