Help I need to learn better german

I've took german as a gcse, and from me not listening in previous years I lack basic vocabulary. Is there any tips or apps can anyone give me to learn the basics? I use duolingo but I find it only teaches you phrases and not how to structure a sentence. Thanks!

If you've never been to any German speaking countries before, try doing that.
