But was it him breaking up, or her? She doesn't make it clear as he texted "after your text...." (although surely you wouldn't break up with someone after 4 years, by text)
I think it means that now it has hit him what's happened, but it's done now and you should both get on with your lives. :s-smilie:

What did your text to him say, OP?
Call him!

I think he's saying that he's only just realised what has happened but may have been both of your fault for breaking up?

Maybe you should talk to him to clarify what he meant?
he's saying that he thinks you should both get on with your lives now you have split up, even though he regrets it a bit

hmm, what i think hes trying to say is your text made him laugh. he goes on to mention your bed, which he'd like you to lie in, with or without him, i dont know. the last bits a bit confusing but he wants you to look after a mum, again this could be yours, this could be another mum, id need more information to know for sure

Your last text made him realise what happened fully. He accepts partial responsibility & thinks you both need to move on.
I presume he knew your parents, he means your mom.
hi people, im the one who started this thread.. im staggered abt the response n want to thank u so much!
basically i broke up with him by phone.. then i texted him but theres quite a few texts ive sent him and im not sure which one he was referring to for a start.. secondly, i have asked him by what it means.. he rang me n said i cant really explain it, if u dnt get it then theres nothing i can say to explain its jus complicated to explain in words etc.. so i jus ok fine fair enough n we both put the phone down

what the hell are you two, incest? :s-smilie:
[hmmmm
I read the original Text quite differently.

(i) Funny, after your text, only now are things settling in

Implies has spent time playing around in his mind and the reality of decision is only just hitting home.... He is not happy about the outcome

(ii) But i suppose we made our beds so its best to lie in them

Is based on the commonly used idiom ""You've made your bed (and you'll have to lie in it)""and basically is something that you say in order to tell someone that they must accept that they will suffer as a result of something bad that they have done

Now I don'tknow if he is aware of the true meaning of the afore mentioned idiom, but thats what it means

(iii) Look after mum please

One would naturally have to assume that he is talking about his mother, and with this in mind, the fact that he has asked you to look after her would suggest/indicate/threat some form of self harm. Now needless to say I rather hope that this is not the case, it is however my initial reaction.
