I'd probably say LSE even though they're still really good.

Why do you think that about Oxbridge?

Warwick.

Durham, Warwick, UCL

Loughborough.

Oxbridge is not overrated. It's the only unis that are comparable and arguably better than the top ivy league universities. I think people forget the significance of getting a degree from the best unis in the world.

Reply 8

Realistically Oxbridge isn’t.
I’d Probably LSE, Warwick, King’s. All still good.

Oxbridge probably. I mean in my opinion the prestige of a university made much more difference in the past. Now we have internet and access to lectures, articles, books etc etc from everywhere wherever we want. Yes there might still be great difference between universities but I wouldn't say it is as great as it perhaps was before. A LOT depends on the student honestly, though good lecturers and helpful staff and good resources at a university are very helpful and in my opinion really contribute to the quality of education provided.

Depends what you want to do.

UCL definitely. I hear people getting ABB offers, and yet UCL is above imperial in the rankings and enjoys similar status as stanford harvard mit oxbridge which is just nonsense. I appreciate some part of the rankings is about the research the uni does but cmon UCL? seriously?
Getting into UCL is by far the easiest out of the high ranking unis; no admissions tests needed, no interview, low offers.

ABB offers from UCL, what subject? Byzantine Studies or Nordic Languages? Is it contextual offer?

Wow, this is indeed odd as physics is a competitive subject and UCL is only second to ICL in London for physics. My sis applied to UCL and the entry requirement for Economics was sth
A* (Maths), A, A

Her friend got a standard AAB offer for German Studies at UCL and my sis thought that it was relatively soft. But not many people want to read German

I don't think that UCL is overrated, UCL does not do clearing. Some unis have lots of clearing places. My candidate would be Exeter or Bath.

Harvard is probably the most overrated university in the world. Oxbridge is fine imo.

On here: King's and Warwick, especially Warwick. People on here think it's the next best thing after Oxbridge.

In national league tables: Surrey, Lancaster and Loughborough.

I think Warwick is actually underrated. It's such an amazing university which offers great opportunities for its graduates. Plenty of Warwick grads go on to win successes in life. Plenty of Warwick grads break into the best firms globally. It has a solid business school and it is quite a respected name in the banking, financial, business world.

It is Kings College who is massively overrated. It's just the dumping ground for UCL and LSE rejects. Warwick doesn't have that kind of reputation. It definitely is a dumping ground of Oxbridge rejects, but, by and large, Warwick is a peer and close competitor of LSE and UCL. Again, King's College isn't treated the same way. Clearly, King's in not in their league. Just a dumping ground for their rejects. I'm not trying to bash King's here. I think it's an okay uni. But it is way overrated due largely to those international league tables which falsely depict King's something like a top UK uni.

I'd say Surrey, Exeter and Warwick.
