Sorry to point out the very obvious but why don't you leave?

do you feel particularly attatched to your hometown, or are you staying there for a particular reason, if not try moving elsewhere and remember that you can't step into the future if your holding onto the past --cliche i know, let me know more detail, with regards to the horrible and untrustworthy people in what way ?

I do wnat to leave, but I had some mental problem snad had to recuperate back home for some stability. It seems as I can't drive and need to a wage to set myself up with a place etc, it's hard to find myself a career away and leave. Plus myparents think, wrongyl, that it'll be hard making firends being away, what they dont understand is I need a new start

It's hard to describe I was just constantly demeaned 'cos I dared to stand alone, and they wanted by downfall I think. Just wouldnt let up, some of them have left now but the odd one still there and hate the stangnancy and memories of the place, even though it's considered desirable.

well i know how you feel admittedly i was much younger and it lasted only a few years but i have had similar situatuions where i decided to go against the tide and not (trash peoples houses, do drugs and generally be scum) thankfully they are all older than me and have either matured and / or moved on i'm just looking forward to moving on too,

try and see the place where you live for its culture or beauty rather than the people who live there, and just think that they obviously had / have nothing better to do so at the end of the day who has the better life ... the answer is you and although i can't say or appreciate exactly whats it like i still feel unless there are stong attatchments move on to pastures green , make a both a challenge and a commitment to yourself, and if you plan to do this in the near future you this to drive you on ie see the light at the end of the tunnel

all the best

Thanks, but sadly despite ,my potential they are doing better then me now, I've really underachieved due to problems in my life.

hmm in context of exams, or jobs / careers, i don't know how old you are,.. is there any option for resitting / resitting your exams , i'm resitting some of mine , although i've f**ed up again :frown:

Reply 8

not really. I've got good a levels but quit college. I could re-enter HE but thats a long old road. Still there's **** all coming up on the job front.

Reply 9

you got good a-levels, good enough for uni ? you could always try and aim for applying to uni this sept ?
and you could use that as your goal, just try and get a job untill then 8 months or so to save money for uni ???

my a-levels are gonna be cr*p when i finish them all so uni's not really on the table for me i kinda wish it was but also not :/ its weird but part of me really wants to go and part of me doesn't and i'm fighting with myself to find out which one i want more

Reply 10

thanks

Reply 11

well if there's anything you wanna say go for it, i'll listen and try and help as much as i can , its funny but i know its weird but without knowing someone personally makes it easier to explain things to, there are no embarrassing strings attatched

Just felt hunted by people, like they have too mcuh control over me and will stop my confidence or me getting what I want.

Reply 13

only you have control over you , don't let anyone else feel they have control over you and you are as confident as you want to be, just say to yourself, ****** it one day and be the most confident person in the wrold if it works out then fine and if it doens't it not likely to cause any problems

You said that you had some mental Health problems - did these stem from your problems as an adolescent?

Have you had any counselling?

If you've had a troubled past and need to make changes it may be that you're struggling to make the big changes to change the overall picture (many people struggle with this). Have you thought about setting yourself mini goals along the road to the big changes? One example of such a goal might be to submit an application to a college or university.

I have real problem managing my life, it's not trivial for me

Have you considered trying to get some more counselling?
I had a bad time with bullying etc at school and moved away when I was 18 - if that isn't an option then have you thought about work/school/doing voluntary work etc, to try and meet some new people so you are not around the people who you don't get on with?
Is there public transport so you can travel to a job?

Reply 19

How did your move go? How's things now? I'v done voluntary work, need a career and to earn now. Yeah have public transport.
