I don't think the symptoms usually occur up there. But I don't know. Why would you think it was an STI?

You can get STIs in your throat, and they would presumably make it sore. but you can get lots of other things there, and can have STIs down below without having a sore throat...

Unless you've got any reason to believe it's anything other than just a normal sore throat it probably is just that! If it carries on longer than you'd expect go see someone about it, could be a whole number of things tbh...

Think you got multi-tubulor-cyclosisaids-maldeficit disease

Man i wish i'd gone anon now..

Basically i've been fumbling around drunkenly with my flatmate  - hence why i know a lot about his history. Hadn't bothered with condoms for oral sex. We're all pretty sure his ex was cheating on him. He was at the docs not too long ago because he thought he had thrush or something, but i'm not sure what the outcome of that was.. Now i'm slightly worried in case he's got an sti from her... but of course this didn't enter my head when drunk and doing stuff..

I don't know whether i'm worrying too much or i might actually have a problem.. It's only oral when i haven't been thinking safely so to speak..but if i did have one would it affect me down there too?

it's fine, you should make an appointment with an STI clinic asap and get yourself checked out. but no you shouldn't have any other complications down below especially if you get checked out now. remember to wrap it up next time.

Are you serial?
A condom for oral is just stupid, not only won't it taste very good, but it'll be **** for the bloke.
All this media scaremongering has gone too far, just don't go around doing it to any old person and you'll be ok. IE. in a relationship (be it long or short)

if you haven't both been STI checked at the beginning of a monogamous relationship then yeah, you should use a condom when you have sex, it's hardly rocket science.

I don't know, it's got to taste better than the chlamydia trachomatis bacterium . It's not just sore throats either - chlamydia infection of the eye is the most common cause of preventable blindness in the world....

Was talking about oral sex - which may I add tends to happen mostly in relationships rather than one night stands.

Where's the negs?

gosh you're having some bad sex.... i'd say using a condom on a one night stand would be the bare minimum.... i think you managed to ignore one vital aspect of what oral sex is

and what?? why neg you when you can just run along and catch and sti all by yourself

Honestly who uses a condom for oral sex!?
And yes I would use a condom for penetrative sex on a one night stand, but I don't need to being in a relationship with someone on the pill and we've both had tests at start of relationship.

Learn to read. As this is about oral.

i can read thankyou  you can contract gonorrhoea, clamydia, syphilis, HPV, herpes, HIV, hep B along with a few others from giving/receiving unprotected oral sex.

Reply 16

If I was giving oral I'd still make him wear a condom. Not if I knew he was clean, but like the OP knows the guy's history and it doesn't sound great, then yeah I would.

Meh!

Reply 17

OP sorry i don't think you have syphilis honestly! you should go for a checkup and use a condom in the future though.

There was a storyline on hollyoaks about this ages ago... not the most reliable place to get your info from, but its entirely possible.

And no I wouldn't use a condom for oral... but then again, I know my boyfriend is clean. But I have done in the past.

whoever said oral doesnt happen on one-night stands generally hasn't been to any of the house-parties I ended up in - IN YEAR 11! Ergh... glad it wasnt me.
