Fancy Dress For Clubbing

I was just wondering what you think about fancy dress when your out clubbing in town? A friend of mine wants to do this for her birthday but theres only a small group of us going (about 5) and I'm worried that I'm just going to look silly!

Any ideas how I can do fancy dress without going all out and drawing too much attention to myself?

Thanks.

You wont look silly, everyones so pissed it doesnt matter, why would you not want to draw attention to yourself? thats the whole point of clubbing

Newcastle is mad though, be aware some places may not let you in in fancy dress. We got rejected from bullet proof because we were dressed up :frown:

I think you're better to go with a theme. Because then you are recogniseable as a group. If there is 5 of you all dressed differently, it will look daft.

I agree, a theme would probably look better

Oh I *love* fancy dress nights out (until some berk steals part of your costume, which is pretty much guaranteed to happen). Make sure you have a plan of which club you're going to go to beforehand and call to tell them of your plans for fancy dress just to make sure they'll let you in.

A lot of people do that. Personally I cannot stand fancy dress - It requires far too much effort. Remember that other people could take the same view and decide not to bother going.

Go as a sexy secretary!
Or wear a fedora
or both..
The secretary one is good for still looking 'club'-ish but not drawing too much attention to yourself.

Definitely go with a theme - all the same or as part of a group (The Spice Girls etc) as there aren't loads of you, it might look a bit silly if you're all different. You could always do a Charlies Angels/sexy secretary/bunnygirl theme as you can pretty much wear anything black/white and look clubby but still be in fancy dress.

we have alos been out as ladybirds and bumblebees a seperate time aswell!
but thetheme should be a def!

I will suggest a theme to the birthday girl then, its about 3 weeks off so hopefully the others haven't got their outfits yet. I just don't feel like being stared at lol I'm sure once I've had a few drinks I will be alright though.

Yes do a theme!! I love fancy dress it's so much fun, I find the less common themes are usually better. Nurses, bunnies and army gear can get a bit boring. The best fancy dress I've done so far was superhero night where everyone had to come up with their own superhero name and costume. My customised cape was all sparkly and amazing =D. Got a mighty boosh fancy dress in Feb, think I'm going to go as Naboo to make use of the cape again =p.

But yes fancy dress is fun but you def need a theme, and the more customising you can do for your outfit the more fun it'll be!

Well the birthday girl has already got her outfit and shes being a bee, so I thought about suggesting some sort of insect theme. What do you think? Any ideas about cute or nice looking bugs? I've thought of butterflies, spiders and ladybirds so far.

Ladybirds! Red top, black skirt/trousers and just pin black spots on the top. Make some feelery things and your done. Maybe with white fairy wings on the back?

I like!

Well after trying to pursuade my friend to do some sort of themed night out shes decided she wants us to all go different :-l so I've bought this fancy dress outfit. It does look great but I just think I'm going to feel ashamed out in it lol.. What do you all think?
