i got -57 or (56.8 depending on significant figures) and why did you say the NaOH was in excess? to allow all the hno3 to react?

yes i got the same!! and yeh something like that was bit of waffle

I got 1.01 for K, deltaS is Jmol^-1K^-1, need to divide it by 1000 for the deltaG calculation to get to KJK^-1mol^-1

Delta G is KJmol^-1 because u divide by T

Did anyone get -2kJ/mol for an enthalpy of solution question?

NaOH was in excess to make sure the reaction goes to completion.

I did. It seemed a bit strange though
Unfortunately not. Previous mark schemes are very specific that they need the name, not the formula...

I also really need help with A2 material.
Biology
Chemistry and
Mathematics
I got that too! It just means that the reaction is not feasible at that temperature

Someone help me understand how I got a negative entropy for the combustion

I'd have thought so, same thing

I put ammonium chloride and I'm now really worried that that doesn't work... because I completely ignored the first part of the question... *bangs head on desk*

It won’t work because it said CREAM precipitate

I got +2..

yeah same - do you remember the compound? we could look it up.

either us or them went the wrong way (I don't remember paying attention to direction so it might be -2)
yh i got negative entropies

MgCl2 maybe?

MgCl2 maybe?

hmm I think I remembered its Mg (OH)2 either way I can't find it
The 6 marker was asking about the lattice enthalpy values for MgI2 and LiCl. I think you had to mention that experimental values were more exothermic as polarisation occurs. Also the fact that MgI2 has a more exothermic value because it has a 2+ charge, and the iodide ion is bigger than chloride so the iodide ion is more easily polarised.

Sorry I got +2 as well, I didn't notice the - in the answer I agreed with. I only saw the 2
did anyone get 5.(?) for the pH question
