1. Does this hall have good transport links to the Uni?

2. If you have a 31 week let, are you given the same room after every term?

3. As it is the 'party hall' lol, does that mean is partying throughout the year ?

4. How long does the walk usually take, on a good day to LSE?

1. Yes, and it's "free". No 38 bendy bus; nobody pays. But let's face it, if u can't hack a 20 min walk (at a decent pace) when it isn't even raining/cold then you're plain lazy.

2. Yes, you keep the same room.

3. Changes year from year, but due to how small it is and the awesome bar, you generally get to know most of the outgoing crowd easily and so there's always people you can go out with. Last year was quieter than usual (bar was making ridiculous losses), but still a good bunch of sociable people and still relatively better than LSE in general.

4. 15-20 min if you walk at a fast pace.

Thanks for that XYZ, some halls have more than one bar, and some don't have either right, whats the difference of allocation between the new and old building? do you know?

Postgraduates (and the unfortunate odd undergraduate) get shoved into Myddleton Wing, which has nicer rooms and facilities than the main building; but as I said, it's full of postgrads who generally don't mix much with the undergrads.

Ahh I see so its probably best to be in the older one as its full of undergrads :-) Thanks XZY!
Here are a couple of questions:

1. Does the hall have nice food? (I can't cook!)

2. If I apply early, can I ask not to be put in the Myddleton Wing?

3. If I want to stay over in Easter or even Christmas, can I prolong my contract of 31-weeks?

1. I've heard its not bad.. always one vegetarian choice or something (which isn't bad, but its not always that good lol) catered halls are a good way to meet people, but i love to cook lol so it's not really my thing

2. Not sure, I've heard that some do end up there, just its got a lot of postgrads who tend to socialise with other postgrads (nice building and facilities though)

3.yes you can if you apply early and pay the installments, it usually isn't a problem!

Hope that helps!

1. Food is... satisfactory. It lacks taste but it will mean you won't starve to death. They keep it interesting and vary the meals, but if there is no taste, it ends up tasting the same even though it looks different. Some meals are good though, some should be avoided at all costs, but generally I was happy with the food. It was just so easy going downstairs to eat!

2. Probably, though I wouldn't recommend it if you want to be sociable. Postgraduates are ultimate boring.

3. Yes.
What the hell Tap? Rosebery food satisfactory? That's like saying Crush is the best night out in London on a Friday night. Let me put it this way, I had never heard of or imagined in my wildest dreams the idea of an egg curry (that's right, picture whole hardboiled eggs bobbing up and down in a brown mixture).

Yeah, postgrads are party poopers, but the guy said apply early to NOT get put in Myddleton.

Okay I can't read it seems. In which case the guy is unlikely to end up in Myddleton.

The egg curry just tasted like all the other curries. Though anyway I thought the curries were the finest Rosebery cuisine. Rosebery food was bland and tasteless but it did the job, hence satisfactory.

Yes of course but that's a given.
About an hour after you've finished eating rosebery slop you feel hungry once more cos they boil the life out of it again and again. You then end up going to get some grimy food (bone, ligament and batter) from 'Perfect' Chicken. For some unknown reason you will keep making these twin mistakes night after night. For real bruv.

i have an opposite question:
can i ask to be placed on rosebury avenue?
Thanks
I applied already, and wasn't given options to pick particular wings or streets... oh well... it looked like a good place, i did want ensuite single and yes you can prolong the staying periods, which is what I want to do. If loads stay over in december than i will stay as well, but for sure staying in April.

Hi!

I am an international student and got Rosebery. Looking forward to having a good time with you

When are you getting in? Possibly, I can't make it to the 21th of Sept. for the induction. Anyone else getting in on the 27th or 28th?

And for those who are (were) already there: How are the facilities in respect to the fact that around 7 students share a bathroom?

Hope that there may be some answers.

Hey, i should be getting there for the 28th as well, although i actually live pretty close to LSE, thought id save a bit on costs.

Wouldnt mind hearing a bit more about it either though.
