Should there be greater emphasis on apprenticeships in the UK?

I think we should. It is evident that experience trumps what you know. And unless you do a career where a degree is a must like medicine, dentistry, teaching etc... Apprenticeships would be a better option.

I like apprenticeships (not the wage though) and they should be more available and encouraged by employers.

There should be a greater emphasis on apprenticeships in the UK, too many students are being coerced into going to uni for degrees that leave them out of pocket and without a job once they leave.
