AQA Additional Science Physics Modual - 21st Jan - Revision Thread

Same as the Biology one, but for Physics.

This one should be a bit easier I think, and apparently we don't need to know the equations do we? Those are provided. There seems to be some contradiction about that on here but out teachers have been saying that for weeks.

How's everyone else feeling about it?

As far as I know we DO have to learn all the equations.
We do need to know the equations! All 12 of them !

Good luck everyone.

Yeah I think we have to learn all the equations because a lot of the questions are writing the equation and there wouldn't be marks for writing the equation if they'd already given it to you :]
Yeapp ! There were questions like that on the specimen paper!
I was also told that we do NOT need to learn the formulas and will be given them. But due to the confusion, it may be worth spending 20mins learning them all just in case.
Yeahh, there's only 12 of them.
Plus, in the specification, it does put the formulas there, so i'm pretty sure they do have to be known.
Apparently AQA held a meeting and told all the teachers that they were going to be given from this year and all the teachers complained saying it made it too easy...

What are the twelve equations then?

And our teacher said that the marks will simply be transferred into other questions.

I'm doing triple science, but that test should be the same as the additional higher - i think we do have to learn most equations, particularly the ones to do with electricity. Hopefully they'll give us the complicated ones!

what do u think will come up because i need to at least get 30 marks to pass overall

I think to clarify, could someone please put the twelve or so formulae up on here so people know exactly which ones to revise. It would help me too.
Thank you :] x

Second that.
I'll do it in a sec!

Thank you :]
Forces

1. accelaration= change in velocity/ time

2. weight= mass * gravitational field strength

3. resultant force= mass * acceleration

4. work done= force applied * distance moved

5. kinetic energy= 1/2 * mass * speed(squared)

6. momentum= mass * velocity

7. force= change in momentum/time

Electricity

8. potential difference(voltage)= current * resistance

9. power= energy transferred/time

10. power= current * potential difference

11. energy trasformed= potential difference * charge

12. charge= current * time

Hope this helps xx

Thank you so much, are you sure that's all of them?

Yeah, that's all of them
I have the specification here, and that's all there is on it!xx

Yeah, that's all of them

Thanks very much!
You're welcome  xx
