Hello! I definitely feel I'm a bit late starting this GYG thread, but I think it will be fun nonetheless

About me:
Hi, I'm PuffyPenguin and I'm in year 13. I have started this study blog in the hope of motivating myself to put the work in in the run up to my A level exams in May 2018. I have applied to study Biochemistry at university.
Let's start by going through my previous results...
My GCSE grades
Maths A*
Further maths A*^
English lang A
English lit A*
Biology A*
Chemistry A*
Physics A*
Art A*
German A*
History A*
RS A*
I did work really hard for these grades, and I am really happy with my results ☺
AS levels
I took Maths, Biology, Chemistry and German. These were the subjects that I most enjoyed at GCSE, and below. while I wasn't sure what I wanted to study at uni at this point, I knew I was interested in science.
Out of these subjects, only maths and German still had formal AS exams.
Results:
Maths A - 281/300 UMS
German A
A level
I decided to stop studying German and focus on getting good grades in my other 3 subjects, which would be more relevant to my uni application.
Year 13 is going pretty well so far, I got 3 A*s in my mocks for maths, biology and chemistry, and I am enjoying what I am learning about so far.
Uni application
I applied to:
Cambridge - Natural Sciences - interview offer received and attended - I am now waiting to hear back on 10/01/18 but am not expecting to receive an offer as the interview didn't go particularly well.
York - offer received AAB
Nottingham - offer AAB
Sheffield - offer AAB
Bath - offer AAA
All for Biochemistry ☺
My top choice is York, and even if I do receive an offer from Cambridge (very unlikely
) I am not sure whether I would accept it or not.
In my spare time:
I enjoy playing the flute and have recently passed my grade 5, I am a member of a dry slope ski slalom team and I regularly attend parkrun. I am also a keen reader. I tutor a year 7 and year 8 student in maths and science as well
I will add more detail later
