Cambridge will be much cheaper. I pay £120 a week for some crappy house 30 minutes tube from LSE!

Agreed, that is of course assuming that you get on with the tutorial style of teaching. For those who want to be more independent in their learning LSE may be more suited to them...

Well, going to LSE over cambridge is not bonkers at all. It is THE LSE... Going to Exeter over Oxford, I would classify as a little bonkers to be polite.
I decided LSE over Cambridge..and my reasons were totally valid, so that person who said you would be "BONKERS!!!" , is, sadly, one of those ill-informed, ignorant people who automatically decide that the best university for everyone would be Cambridge, just for the fact that it is Cambridge. Anyone who knows even a little bit about the academic world would know that LSE is internationally renowned, some reasons being different reasons than that of Cambridge, one of them being the emphasis on careers and vocational training. I hope you make a choice that reflects what you want, not what everyone else wants(and it does often seem like it!).

I like greenery, hence for me it would be Cambridge > LSE.

Also, London's air smells big time. You feel the difference when you travel to London by car from the seaside.

I live by the seaside and the air in London isn't that bad. Cambridge is also bloody freezing lol.

Sort it out with your own common sense. If you went back home nad you were asked which uni you went which one do you think they would class as the more prestigious?

Its not all about reputation. Which one has better teaching? I do LSE Economics and the ansewr to my question is Cambridge by a country mile.

So how bad is the teaching at LSE for Economics L101 really?
(as bad as the way I phrased that question? :wink:)
Is it really that horrendous? Everyone has been going on about that now... and I am getting quite nervous about that.
Hmm... how come LSE are such highly ranked then? If the teaching is bad, isn't that the most important thing?

And how does Oxbridge rank in compare? Isn't it alot of self-teaching?

As Johnaton Leape (i think it was him) put it. It isnt about the teaching as such. its about being in an institution where you compete with some of the best students in the world where you are pushed to learn. And then coming out with a first/2.1 amongst such competition is what the value of an LSE degree really is.

And yes, clearly indpendent learning plays a huge role.
