# maths c2 circles watch

1. i thought you would have to find the coordinates of V and i did this through solving the equation (1+x/2 = 4 etc)

in this question they just used the centre to find the radius and not the coordinate of UV

= \ ( 4 − 1 ) 2 + ( 4 − 8 ) 2
= \ 32 + ( − 4 ) 2
= \ 9 + 16
= √ 25
= 5

Nothing in this question suggests the need to use V.

Is there a problem with their method for you?
