Complaint made against studentWatch
Does anyone know what would happen to a student nurse if their mentor made a formal complaint against them about their behaviour on placement? Despite the fact the student feels bullied by the mentor, and feels as though the mentor didn’t like them from the start. Would they simply take the mentors word for it or would they take both sides into consideration?
If the student has their own complaints about the mentor then they would need to raise this separately with the university. It would be unwise to wait until disciplinary proceedings begin to lodge these complaints.
Both sides would be heard, but mentors are trusted to some extent in their complaints. Any complaint they make would be taken seriously as this is part of their agreement with the university and training as a mentor.
