Hey,
I am really new to the blogging scene but I have been considering creating my own blog since reading some of the helpful and honest content that other bloggers put out there.
I'm just hoping that anyone on here is able to give me some good advice on the do's and don'ts of starting a blog. what platforms are good to use and just ways to help get recognised...

For blogging, I normally use blogger or wordpress. It is easy to use. You could consider making video and content and uploading on sites like Youtube to accompany your blog.
Another tip is to use social media to promote your blog. Create a twitter or Facebook page for your blog and encourage users to interact with you. You can also post relevant links or share your blog posts everytime you publish. It increases the people who see your blog, as it publicises your posts to the followers you generate on Twitter/Facebook/other social media.
Make sure your content is up-to-date and well written. If you identify the current trends, you are likely to get more views. Posting regularly is a good idea. It takes time to build a successful blog, but if you are truly passionate, put in the effort and you will enjoy it and find success!
You could also look at doing collaboration projects later on down the line with bloggers in your field. This would publicise your blog to their followers and vice versa.
