EU national, never realised I had to have CSI?

I'm an EU national trying to apply for permanent residence so I don't get deported after Brexit (you never know what can happen these days), I've lived in England for over 10 years (I'm 19).

I'm filling out the application form and it asked if I had any sort of comprehensive sickness insurance, I don't so I marked no and it said that my application may be rejected because of that. Apparently you are only considered self sufficient if you've had CSI for a total of 5 years before applying. But I've never even heard of it! I've never been asked if I had CSI before now, I received free treatment from the NHS doctors, dentists and pharmacists as normal, I've never been asked by university or school or anything!

Does this mean I have to get this insurance and wait another 5 years? Smh that's ridiculous. Anyone else had this problem?
