past paper says one thing but the textbook says the opposite? HELP!

in this past paper question, given that the bond energy in a C-H bond is 435kJ/mol it says to find the bond energy of CH4 - methane. the past paper has one answer but the text book has another ofr the exact same question.

i havent displayed this clearly but there are supposed to be bonds between every C and H (C-H)

Maybe one book is using simpler or less accurate constants or terms, so the answer might be different but still similar
