He's losing interest ?

So, I've been speaking to this guy for just about two months now, we have been speaking every day now quite often and he's so lovely. We have a lot in common and when we started speaking it seemed great like our energy was always matched and he made me laugh a lot. He's a busy person as he boards and does a lot of sport but always found time to talk to me and we're supposed to be meeting fairly soon (we couldn't meet before due to school commitments etc) as he boards fairly close to where I live but there seems to be problems. Recently, hes been getting bad at texting with one word replies and such but when I brought it up he still insisted he's interested in me and I'm the only one he's talking to and always complimenting me etc etc but I just can't help it's not just he's a bad texter but feel he's becoming more distant. What should I do to make sure the interest is genuine or make it better ?

and if so is he interested in you ?
because if not then you need to decide whether you want to remain friends or not
