The NEA is cancelled.Watch this thread
They are now worth zero towards the final GCSE grade. If you have not started it yet, your teacher will have to get you to have a task open on your desk for 20 hours and will have to refer to it occasionally as they have to sign a form saying 20 hours were spent on it. But no teacher will take it seriously now anymore and will find a workaround so revision or proper teaching time is not wasted. You can find the complete coded answers to most of the tasks by monitoring the usual forums. If you have already done it, it won’t count so it has been a waste of time.
The main lesson you have learnt is to not do the A Level Computer Science. The A Level is even harder and the projects more even more muddled than the GCSE. Do Further Maths instead.
And does this cover all exam boards?
It was officially cancelled for all exam boards OCR AQA and the others yesterday. All exam boards got the official notice and the action to take from the exam regulator. The media release will go out first thing next week and teachers will have the action to take notice in the morning. NEAs now counts for nothing for the GCSE but you still have to do it - however no teacher is going to make you do this as it is a waste of time when you need to revise so don’t worry. Be happy.
I can post website - see other post for login and passwords, so everyone can get answers to many tasks. Shall I do this now or wait tomorrow? So far, nearly 4000 people have downloaded an answer but website might crash if to many at same time.
Just concentrate on theory now and don't sign up for the A Level Computer Science course, or you will get more of the same next year.
