Ask accommodation

In short: yes they do become noisy, although I didn't have a room facing into the quad it can be really annoying when people are outside your room (although I must admit that I, on several occasions, was probably the noisy one annoying everyone). I remember an American bloke in my block just shouting at people to shut up really really loudly, and they did, it was quite funny. I wouldn't call security on people - not like that fat dude can do anything to stop people.

they shined a torch around and told people to bugger off - certainly did the trick

When should we expect to hear from the university about our accommodation, i applied about 1 month ago and have heard nothing since...

En-suite rooms on University Park are now full. :ciao:

We will still accept applications for en-suite rooms at University Park but you are no longer abe to specify a hall. If you apply for an en-suite at Univeristy Park you will be given a random hall that cannot be changed for an en-suite elsewhere.

You are welcome to reject this offer at which point we will move down your list of preferences and hopefully find another match but if we are unable to match with your preferences we will offer the next closest room type to your choices.

Hi Bren.
Have you started allocating the rooms and sending out offers yet?
Just i sent my application when the accomdation application first opened and still havent heard.
Thanking you.
Wow all full:smile: Bren Lee, could I ask you are you able to change your room(talking about en-suite option) if you don't get well with the other person, I mean if you have some serious hassles or something?

We have started allocating rooms and so far it's going well. Sending them out is a whole other story though so I STILL don't have a date to give you yet.

Now you're gonna ask if you've been allocated aren't you?

It is possilbe to change but it's complicated.

If you are moving within the hall you are living in just speak to the hall secretary  , there is usually an admin charge involved.

If you want to move to a different hall, get ready for a headache.

If you want to move to a different provider (i.e UPP, Unite, Derwent, Opal, University), prepare for disappointment.:s-smilie:

If it pops up, enquire with us then. If not then don't worry about it.

Thank you, I hope I won't have any problems with my roommate:smile:

You guys were quite helpful when I moved last year...although there was a lady that....(shall not speak ill...) oh an I got the £50 admind charge or whatever for changing halls too :hmpf: I guess it can be a hassle..

Hey bren mate, do the halls (especially cripps) become really noise at night because of the drunk students etc?

I had a room facing the quad and it wasn't ever a problem actually! It was quite funny sometimes actually.
It was the people screaming down the hallways, drunk people forcing themselves (or at least trying!) into your rooms at night that pissed me off.

Not until/unless Nottingham becomes your default 1st choice after exam results.

It has completely changed since then and moving from one site to another is now really difficult.

Oh go on, dish the dirt. 3 of the 4 women that were here have left now so it's ok! pleasepleaseplease!]

On a serious note, it helps us improve our service and isn't anything to do with gossip at all!

If you go Uni hall to Uni hall the fee is only £20 but if you go from site to site (UP to BGP etc) the prices is £50 :frown:

Sorry!

I'm not sure what I got charged in the end, someone messed it up and then my fees and what not but basically the asian lady was 1) unfriendly and 2) sometimes it just seemed like she didn't know what was going on. Like she'd give you two pieces of contradicting information within 2 visits and then she'd contradict herself. Plus she lost some of my info...other than that, I didn't really have a problem with you guys. Anyways that was my experience with the whole thing. Easy enough but got complicated, the move was only...like 5 metres away :p:

You could PM me your ID number and I'll check it out for you. If you like?

The asian lady, our receptionist, is leaving us soon, hopefully you won't get that again. I'm really sorry that it was messed up for you though.

nah no worries.
